（王歐陽（香港）有限公司）[提要] 1997年6月30日在香港會議展覽中心新翼舉行的香港主權(quán)移交儀式使造價為48億港元的新翼成為舉世矚目的建設(shè)項目。此工程非同尋常的建筑形式和極其緊湊的建設(shè)計劃，要求結(jié)構(gòu)采用多方面的特殊處理方法。象征海鳥飛翔在水面上的雕塑般的屋面造型無疑是此工程最吸引人和最復(fù)雜的部分。跨越水道90m的多層中庭連接通道使新翼與原會展中心構(gòu)成一體，別具一格。包括填海在內(nèi)整個項目只用了3年便完成了。

The unusual building design features and extremely tight programme of the development called for special technical treatment of many aspects of the structure. Inspired by the uplifting image of seabirds in flight over water, the highly sculpted roof was undoubtedly the most intriguing and intricate part of the project. The multi storey atrium link spanning 90m over the water channel and connecting to the exisiting centre constituted another distinctive feature. The entire project including reclamation was completed within an extraordingary short programme of 3 years.
