A method for calculating the yielding and ultimate load capacity of members strengthened with CFS is proposed when the effect of the secondary load is considered. Calculations with the formula put forward are in good agreement with the experimental results. It is advised that the anchorage length of CFS, peeling stress, the strain of CFS under the ultimate load and the shear capacity should also be verified to insure enough ductility of the member.
